The Client Group engages with institutions and financial intermediaries all over the world to understand their investment goals and risk tolerances—and how AB’s solutions can help advance their success. The group has five functional areas:

Sales & Client Services maintains a dialogue with clients to highlight, deliver and support diversified investment solutions through separately managed accounts, mutual funds and other vehicles.

Business Development is a conduit to the firm’s investment teams, supporting clients and colleagues with asset-class and product content, messaging, competitive analysis and education.

Product Strategy & Development designs and creates the firm’s global lineup of investment solutions to support investors’ evolving needs and capitalize on new market opportunities.

Marketing showcases AB and its insights and services by creating, packaging and distributing content and messages through our web and digital channels, strategic campaigns, and events.

Business Transformation explores new ways to evolve and scale our business, leveraging digital technology and data, to drive better top-line growth and profitability.

Private Wealth Management provides comprehensive investment-management and wealth-planning services to high-net-worth individuals, families, foundations and institutions. Bernstein’s services include:

The Equities team features two main disciplines: portfolio managers who build high-conviction stock portfolios and analysts who conduct industry and company research in search of the best investment ideas. The team channels its distinctive research into a range of active, high-conviction equity strategies designed to meet specific objectives and time horizons. These strategies span geographies, market capitalizations and styles—core, growth and value.

The Fixed Income team includes product and strategy groups that assess global bond markets, economies and individual securities. Disciplines include high-yield corporate bonds, emerging-market corporates, securitized assets, alternative credit, municipal bonds, global economic research and quantitative research. The team collaborates and connects in real time through an integrated platform, navigating markets, anticipating risks and opportunities, and delivering a broad platform of diversified regional and global bond strategies.

The Multi-Asset team looks across all markets to design integrated, dynamic solutions that are greater than the sum of their parts—from custom strategies to fund solutions and portfolio overlays. Team specialties include portfolio management, research, portfolio implementation and risk management, and strategy and communications. The Multi-Asset team also leverages AB’s broad expertise in equities, credit, interest rates, currencies, alternatives and economics.

The Portfolio Management Group ensures a smooth portfolio implementation process and supports our portfolio-management teams by authorizing and executing portfolio decisions. Key functions include portfolio construction, risk management, handling client-specific requests, tax management and the monitoring of pre-trade client guideline compliance.

The Private Alternatives team invests directly across a wide array of private asset classes including private credit, private equity fund and private equity co-investments, commercial real estate, and real assets.

Bernstein Research keeps clients ahead by delivering the highest caliber of independent research insights, industry expertise and trusted trade execution. Its three main divisions are research, sales and trading.

Research Analysts assess companies, industries and markets, developing unbiased, in-depth perspectives. These experts deliver exclusive insights through research reports—including our renowned black books—phone calls, meetings and conferences. The Integrated Quantitative Research team develops and manages risk/return prediction models across asset classes, and uses advanced techniques like machine learning to extract insights from data.

The Bernstein Research Sales team works closely with research experts to present our industry-leading research and trading services to clients. This role requires building and maintaining strong relationships with institutional clients—including mutual funds, hedge funds, and the advisors who manage pensions and endowments.

The Trading team leverages its deep market expertise and infrastructure to connect our institutional investor clients with institutions selling equity securities. This dynamic process enables clients to benefit from more efficient trading and best execution with minimal market impact.

This group, led by the Chief Financial Officer, comprises five areas:

The Controllers Group includes Corporate Accounting, Assets Under Management Reporting, Financial Reporting, Broker-Dealer Accounting and Reporting, International Financial Controls, Accounts Payable, and Payroll.

Treasury is responsible for managing the firm’s funding and liquidity, cash management, foreign exchange, and relations with rating agencies and banks.

The Tax Department delivers a full range of tax services across multiple jurisdictions, collaborating with all parts of the business. Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for the annual budgeting process, long-term financial forecasts and strategic plans, and analytical support for our business units.

Strategy and Corporate Development leads the global organic and inorganic growth agenda and strategy for the firm. This function partners with the CEO and members of the executive leadership team to define, align and help execute AB’s strategic plan toward continued long-term competitive advantage.

The Administrative Services Team consists of real estate and lease administration, strategic space planning, design and construction of offices, facilities operations, food and office services, and corporate travel.

The Technology team provides computing, communications, infrastructure, services, support and innovations that sustain high-quality research and diverse investment services for institutional investors, individuals and private clients. The team also supports AB’s employees. Technical roles in our New York City location have a high degree of interaction with our investment teams.

The majority of our Technology positions are based in New York, New York; San Antonio, Texas; and Nashville, Tennessee.

The Operations team provides vital investment-management functions through more than two dozen offices located around the world. It’s dedicated to institutional investment-management services, private client administration, fund services, brokerage operations and change agents.
